The ActiLymph range includes arm sleeves and hosiery.
ActiLymph gives the estimated 100,000 sufferers of chronic oedema the product most suited to manage the condition.
ActiLymph hosiery provides the graduated compression and fabric firmness to reduce swelling in legs and arms when the lymphatic system is not working properly.
Graduated compression in ActiLymph (it is firmest at the ankle or wrist, reducing up the limb) pushes blood and lymph fluid upwards.
This reduces the swelling and pooling of the blood which makes limbs feel tight and uncomfortable.
Compression hosiery is usually worn for life - which is why Activa has worked closely with healthcare professionals to develop this range to ensure supreme comfort, clinical effectiveness and attractiveness.
The range is available on prescription or can be purchased on line and has revolutionized the treatment available in the community for those with chronic oedema and lymphoedema.
If you have been prescribed ActiLymph European hosiery we hope you enjoy wearing it and being free from uncomfortable swelling in your arms or legs.
Your nurse or GP realized your legs were swelling because your lymphatic system, designed to cope with this fluid, was not working as well as it should.
ActiLymph hosiery pushes this lymph fluid out of your tissues back into the lymphatic system. ActiLymph hosiery also pushes your blood back towards your heart.
There is a knack to applying compression hosiery. Watch the video to help you appy yours in the easiest way. If you still need an extra bit of help consider an ActiGlide hosiery applicator.
If you have swollen legs and are wondering if ActiLymph hosiery would help – Activa always recommend you visit your GP first.
Legs can swell for a variety of reasons and compression hosiery may not be appropriate for you.
ActiLymph hosiery should only be worn following advice from a healthcare specialist.

ActiLymph European hosiery is available on prescription for patients with oedema.
ActiLymph improves both lymphatic and venous return.

Remember, the Activa on line Hosiery Sizer can work out the size your patient needs.
If a patient has been in bandages for a leg ulcer before going into hosiery there is unlikely to be any obvious swelling, particularly if wearing inelastic bandages. If there was swelling present before treatment was commenced then Actilymph is appropriate.
If a patient complains their British Standard hosiery is “digging in”, too small or gets tighter throughout the day, then they may have lymphatic problems and need to wear ActiLymph, which will manage both the lymphatic swelling and poor venous return.
