Key Points The management of a lady with long-standing, chronic arterial leg ulcer heavily infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa - a frequently isolated pathogen within chronic wounds. The wound was 100% green/yellow thick slough and the lady had a VAS score at worst of 8/10. There were high levels of odour and exudate. Previous treatment included iodine and silver sulphadiazine cream with reduced compression.

Key Points The management of a 38 year old lady who had sustained a neurological deficit, resulting in an infected burn to her shoulder. The plastic surgeon had prescribed topical silver sulfadiazine and tulle dressings daily. The wounds were colonised with methicillin resistant Staphlococcus aureus (MRSA). One wound contained 40% necrotic and 10% sloughy tissue and the second wound contained 60% slough.
