Case study of a man who had sustained a traumatic injury to his right index finger leading to amputation and a chronic non-healing wound. His past medical history included type 1 diabetes, renal failure requiring haemodialysis, micro-angiopathy with sub optimal blood supply to his right arm, neuropathy, infection and pyoderma gangrenosum requiring steroid therapy. He was wheelchair dependent and was very anxious about losing his hand. |
